Planning & Development Associate, New York
The Planning & Development (P&D) Associate will support the development of proposal materials, tools and resources, as well as other potential proposal processes. Works with the Strategies & Partnerships (S&P) Unit in New York and supports ICAP’s field-based and headquarters staff to produce timely and high-quality proposal materials on an ongoing basis..


Note: This is a temporary assignment that will last up to 4 months. The role requires between 35 and 40 working hours per week on site at ICAP’s New York headquarters.
Major Responsibilities
  • Contributes to the development of upcoming proposals, including preparation of supporting documentation, partnership management, formatting, packaging, and other activities
  • Supports grants management processes through the development of budget justifications and other supporting documentation related to cost volume
  • Develops new and updated proposal management tools and templates under the guidance of the P&D Manager and P&D Officer
  • Assists in the organization of S&P department files, including boilerplate proposal development resources and archiving of proposal materials
  • Supports the coordination of After Action Reviews for submitted proposals, including compiling, distributing, and archiving proposal team feedback
  • Supports selected communications projects within the S&P Unit
  • Supports additional S&P activities as assigned
Experience, Skills & Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of two (2) years of experience in proposal development or management, preferably in the area of public health or international development
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the process of responding to U.S. Government funding solicitations
  • Expert skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent writing and copyediting skills and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment where meeting tight deadlines is essential
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting budgets and contributing to the development of budget justifications and other supporting documentation
  • Excellent inter-personal ability and cross-cultural competency
