Duties and Responsibilities

The Fundraising Operations Specialist will help lead on the strategic planning and execution of UNDP’s general public (“individual giving”) fundraising platform, Digital Good. Digital Good is UNDP’s pilot for fundraising globally from individuals through outbound promotion via multiple marketing channels, including owned, earned, and paid media. Through this program, UNDP will engage with individuals, especially youth, to bring them into a deeper and more interactive relationship with UNDP in order to support the organization’s mission. This will build a passionate global community of supporters who are interested and invested in UNDP’s success while providing a new, un-earmarked or lightly earmarked revenue stream for UNDP’s vital work to support the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Fundraising Operations Specialist will play a key role in the coordination of ongoing fundraising campaigns, overseeing technology requirements and development, assisting in the creation of marketing strategies, liaising with other teams to coordinate campaign elements, and project managing campaign development. Additionally, the Fundraising Operations Specialist will oversee various aspect of the technology for Digital Good as a platform, ensuring that UNDP adheres to industry best practices and stays abreast of emerging trends and technologies as they become available.
The Fundraising Operations Specialist will also assist the Fundraising and Engagement team more broadly with knowledge management and help implement an individual engagement plan that will allow UNDP to form a stronger relationship with potential donors across all giving capacities in order to build a strong constituency of supporters worldwide.
The Fundraising Operations Specialist will report to the Manager, Engagement. The Fundraising & Engagement team is one of four teams in the Communications Group, along with Media, Online, and Marketing. 

Education
Master's Degree or equivalent in Project Management, Marketing, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Communications, International Relations or related field.
 
Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Marketing, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Communications, International Relations or related field with an additional two years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of Master's Degree.
 
Experience

  • Minimum five years of relevant experience at the national or international level in nonprofit fundraising, preferably with another UN agency or similar entity.
  • Including relevant experience with product management, preferably for online fundraising products;
  • Demonstrated experience in speedy quality writing, analysis and problem solving;
  • Experience in using knowledge management tools and systems;
  • Experience negotiating contracts with technology vendors;
  • Experience managing web development cycles with multiple developers;
  • Experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, GitHub, SQL, & multiple CMS’s (Drupal, Wordpress, etc);
  • Experience with UNDP and UN system is highly desirable
