The ACE Electoral Knowledge Network is the main portal to the world of elections. The ACE network promotes credible, and transparent electoral processes with emphasis on sustainability, professionalism and trust in the electoral process. ACE offers a wide range of services related to electoral knowledge, assistance and capacity development. The ACE website is an online knowledge repository that provides comprehensive information and customized advice on electoral processes. The website contains in-depth articles, global statistics and data, an Encyclopedia of Elections, information on electoral assistance, observation and professional development, region- and country-specific resources, daily electoral news, an election calendar, quizzes, expert networks, and many other features.
The intern will be predominantly working with the ACE Coordination Unit which is responsible for the daily update and management and development of the ACE Electoral Knowledge Network. The ACE Coordination Unit consists of staff members based in several of the ACE partner organizations and conducts its functions under the guidance of the ACE Steering Board that is the main governing body of this platform and includes representatives from all partner organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities | |
Under the overall supervision of the Electoral Specialists and in coordination with the ACE Coordinator, the intern will support UNDP’s contribution to the ACE Coordination Unit, and occasionally support the UNDP elections team in daily matters.
The intern will perform the following activities:
In addition to the above mentioned tasks, there will be room for the intern to influence the work to suit her/his specific interests and areas of expertise. This includes but is not limited to research, writing, translations, development of outreach mechanisms and technical applications to contribute to the quality and accessibility of ACE.

Financial Arrangements:
UNDP does not pay for internships. The costs associated with the internship must be borne by the nominating institution, related institution or government, which may provide the required financial assistance to its students; or by the student, who will have to obtain financing for subsistence and make his or her own arrangements for travel, accommodation etc.
Insurance:
UNDP accepts no responsibility for the medical and life insurance of the intern or costs arising from accidents and illness incurred during an internship. As interns are not covered under any insurance, including MAIP, they should not travel to hazardous locations in the course of their internship with UNDP.
